Three doves

Pop-Up Art and Craft Sale – It was a very slow day. 50% of sales would be $14, but that seems meager. Rounded it up to $50. The kids need a great Christmas. If you are looking for a place to help this Christmas, consider Toys for Tots. They do a great job.

n behalf of the entire Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, we thank you for your generous donation today. Through your support we will continue to help bring the joy of Christmas and send a message of hope to America's less fortunate children.

As to today’s piece, it was a tough one. I did a flip cup pour, then made a stencil using an old Christmas card that had a nice dove on it. Did a ribbon pour over that with the darker colors. I had a hard time seeing the stencil after I did the pour over it to peel it off. Made a couple of mistakes hence the gold puffy paint outlining the doves. I have shaky hands sometimes, so it is wobbly. Then I poured resin just on the doves, that went fine. But part of the mistake from the peeling needed paint repairs that I used skins for. I didn’t think varnish would hide them as well as the resin would. I didn’t want the resin to pour over the edge with the bevels on the round. So, unsuccessfully used silicone/latex to block it, then tried a second with tape, a little better but still had blank spots. I have now given up with it as it is. It is nice but has too many mistakes that I know about it. Some are harder than others. Onto the next project…(I have so many in process…)
