It is the day after Thanksgiving, but the spirit of giving thanks should be every day, not just one day of the year. To complete the week on thoughts of thankfulness, I would just like to say how thankful I am for my family. My children and grandchildren have provided much joy and a tad bit of sorrow over the years. But that is normal and to be expected. Many have asked if you can know joy if you have never known sorrow. Maybe you can. Maybe your joy is more intense because of sorrow. I miss my brothers and parents every day, but the feeling of loss is more intense during the holidays. I am thankful for them. I am who I am because I had them in my life. The sorrow of their loss will always be with me, but so will the joy of their memories.
