I was a military wife for 20+ years followed by nearly 20 years in the Foreign Service. I always felt that I was just passing through each assignment, never quite belonging where I was. I loved seeing the new places and meeting the new friends. Wouldn’t trade it for anything. After all those moves, we are now staying put. We’ve been in the same town now for 10 years, that is a true record. We did move once in those ten years, a block away in the same neighborhood. I love my neighborhood! Enjoy where you are even if you might be just passing through.
