Is this Jimmy? As we near his birthday – he would have been 63 this year – I am thinking of him. I don’t think this is Jimmy, but it could be. I don’t remember him diving with my parents.Jimmy’s love was motorcycles and cars. Mainly motorcycles. He was good at fixing motors and engines. I bought my first car from him, against my Dad’s wishes. It was a Ford Falcon. He wanted to buy an Opel. So, we made the deal. He was 19, I was almost 17. Dad was very mad and forbade me from driving my car until I could buy my own insurance. So, I got a second job (while maintaining a 4.0 GPA in high school).I started cleaning yachts in addition to working at Burger King. Dad relented after about 2 months and probably from a lot of urging from my Mom. I didn’t resist my parents as a rule. One of the few times that I did, Jimmy was by my side. That’s love.
