You can just barely see his membrane at the top of his shell. Which way was this going, retreating or coming out? I’ll never know. To be honest, I’m not sure mom would have remembered even if I had had the chance to ask her. I mean it has been 40 years since she took the photo. But, then again, she did have a good memory. It will remain a mystery. Enjoy!
