Anything is Possible

That is true. I remember going on a trip in Zimbabwe with some girlfriends. I couldn’t believe I was there. It was my first posting with the Foreign Service. I was put in charge of the Human Resources program and there were serious issues to address with the hyperinflation and the HIV/AIDs epidemic. How could we help our employees and stay within all government policies which can be limiting in our opportunities. I never imagined that I would be in that place with that job. I came from working class origins and never imagined that type of future for myself when I was a young girl. Yet there I was having dinner under the stars with a group of friends and not quite believing it all. This young girl from North Carolina with working class origins was sitting in Zimbabwe gazing at the stars. Yes, anything is possible. Enjoy!
